July 30, 2005: Museum of Industry, Cannon Firing and Fine Dining

Thus continues our exploration of Baltimore. We went to the Baltimore Museum of Industry. We got to see the huge number of things Baltimroe was involved in, my favorite being the printing press room. We even printed a couple of pages from a machine at least 160 years old. A couple of pictures from the museum:

Then, we went to see the USS Constellation, an old frigate, that was laid up in the Baltimore harbour and repaired in dry docks in 1853. Though, we learned that to go around the budget constraints on the Navy, they took the boat in for repairs and completey redid the keel. We saw a cannon get fired from the boat.

We also went down to visit all decks. By the 4th down, we were bent over double and I was very claustrophobic. Not to mention it's like a 100 degrees down there.

To finish the day off, we had dinner at the Windows Restaurant in the Marriott Renaissance Harborplace Hotel. Jeff had to get a photo of our salad!
