1st emergency call from daycare

Right away, let me lay all concerns to rest by saying it was a false alarm. At 7:45 a.m., Oli's daycare called me and the lady says, "Oliver is sleeping right now but he had somewhat of a pink eye." I stated, "I just spoke to his pediatrician yesterday and he has allergies." The lady from the daycare, "Well, we're going to need a note from the doctor." So, I traipsed over to the daycare (thankfully they're only 5 minutes from my desk), wake up Oli, and guess what? Clear eyes. No pinkness, no redness, no swelling, no puffiness ... I still took him to his pediatrician, who was irritated that the daycare sent him 'home.' I am hoping to get some clarity from the daycare on what to do if this happens again. If he has no symptoms, do I really have to spend upwards of 45 minutes and $25 to take him to his pediatrician? I know they have to be careful but really, if there are ABSOLUTELY no symptoms, should I be expected to take him to the doctor?

In other news, check out the cuteness. I put him in a basket while I was getting ready this morning and he enjoyed himself:

Did you talk to the woman who raised false alarm? I would have been so pissed. Glad though he's ok. And, he's looking adorable in his basket!! :)
